The Spanish retailer Carrefour plans to draw more of their customer’s attention to organic products. The company will place organic goods vantaged areas in 35 of its shopping centers in Andalusia in order to support its latest advertisement campaign.
At the moment, only 1% of Spanish shopping carts are filled with organic products, which is far below the average of 10-12% within most of the surrounding countries. The aim is to increase the sales of organic products with advertisements which will be implemented by the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture, Fishery and Rural Development of Andalusia’s regional government (Junta de Andalucía) and Carrefour shopping centers. The campaign will be played under the slogan “Eat organic to feel better” (‘Come bio para sentirte mejor’).
As a result, Carrefour will now offer 1,200 organic products, which is an increase of 20% compared to previous year. The Andalusian region offers a wide range of organic products and exports around 90% of these goods. Approximately one half of the Spanish organic produce comes from the autonomous community.
